I made a short video to reveal the announcement of when the new (free) season of U&F is starting in my podcast feed (also known as “on Spotify”). Take a look, you won’t have to wait long to find out when the date is …
I’ve been posting quite a few videos at YouTube lately, including the HP Lovecraft recordings, all of my Dracula podcast, and most of my classic story readings. So if you prefer to listen on YouTube (and I believe a lot of people do) then please check out my channel and subscribe for more. Many thanks!
In addition to the usual Q&A chat between me and my wife, Pauline, the latest episode of U&F After Hours has a short interview with a special guest. Give it a listen. I think you’ll be interested in what he has to say ๐

True Stories is back for a one-off special, and in this episode, Ewan Buist tells the spooky tale of Gladys. Check your podcast app now, or follow this link to listen live: https://traffic.libsyn.com/secure/mikebennett/TS-Ewan.mp3
I went up to Dublin on Monday to meet Podiobooks founder and all-round podcasting guru, Evo Terra, and his wife Sheila. It was the first time we’d met in person after many years of email correspondence (usually along the lines of Evo telling me for the umpteenth time how to get my Podiobooks MP3s through PB quality control ๐).
Sheila, Evo, MB, and Ian
They’re currently on vacation in Ireland, and we met up for brunch in Temple Bar. We had a great chat, and it was especially great for me because I never get to talk to people in real life about what it is I do. (Most of the time I just say to the curious, “I write and podcast”, and that tends to be the end of the conversation). So imagine how cool it was to speak with someone who knows a ton more about all that sort of thing than I do.
I wish we’d had more time, but they’re on a round-Ireland visit and had an itinerary to keep to, and I had to get my train back home. However, we made vague plans to meet again, maybe at a podcasting convention or something of that nature. I hope so. And I suspect very much we shall, for things are afoot … which you’ll know if you’ve been listening to my recent episodes of the Underwood and Flinch After Hours podcast. The latest episode (#5) is now live in my podcast feed. Search for me in your podcast app and get caught up, or open this RSS link with your podcast app … https://mikebennett.libsyn.com/rss
So I went for a swim the other day and I forgot to mention it (as you do, I mean, it’s not like I met Elvis or anything, is it?) But anyway, so I went for a swim – snorkelling – and … well, I didn’t see much. I saw some dead crabs. I saw a tiny fish. And that was about it. You can see why I forgot to mention it ๐
My latest episode of the Underwood and Flinch After Hours podcast is now in your podcast app. That is, assuming you’re subscribed to my podcast … which you’ll need to be if you want to hear the episode … and you do want to hear the episode. Oh yes ๐ง๐ผโโ๏ธ
Search your app for Underwood and Flinch and Other Audiobooks by Mike Bennett. Go on! Do it now! Before you forget!
Stephanie Newland flies the U&F flag alongside the woodchipper from the movie Fargo at the Fargo Visitors’ Center in North Dakota. “And I guess that was your accomplice in the wood chipper. And those three people in Brainerd. And for what? For a little bit of U&F merch.” ๐
Happy 4th of July to all U&F listeners in the USA! And many thanks to one in particular, Stephanie Newland, who took time out from the holiday celebrations to get a snap of herself and her U&F merch at Dead Lake, Minnesota. It’s great to see the dark world of U&F in such a sunny and peaceful setting … at least till the fireworks start.
Don’t have U&F merch of your own? Then get some from my Redbubble store today. Go on, do it while it still exists, because nothing lasts forever ๐ง๐ผโโ๏ธ
Aloha! My thanks to Anne Smith in Hawaii, who joins me as a contributor to the U&F Merch Around The World gallery with these two pics. One is taken near Diamond Head, the other on the beach on Oahu, Hawaii. The Ribena is a reference to a detail in my unfinished work, Still of the Night at Patreon. A nice touch, I think.
If you have U&F merch and you’d like to share it with me and the world, take a pic of it near a local landmark and send it to “mike @ mikebennettauthor . com” (no gaps in the email address). Don’t forget to say where it’s taken. And if you don’t have U&F merch, why not get some today from my Redbubble store? You can be the coolest person on your street … if only everyone else understood why ๐
