Phone Drama
Pauline dropped her phone. It cracked the face. It seemed okay for a while, but then it started repeatedly – and constantly – phoning emergency services, hanging up, then redialling. We couldn’t stop it. If we turned it off, it’d turn itself back on again (Hello Moto!). We couldn’t take the back off to get the battery out because it was practically welded closed. So, only one solution remaining…
Dead Crabs etc
So I went for a swim the other day and I forgot to mention it (as you do, I mean, it’s not like I met Elvis or anything, is it?) But anyway, so I went for a swim – snorkelling – and … well, I didn’t see much. I saw some dead crabs. I saw a tiny fish. And that was about it. You can see why I forgot to mention it 😄
Happy New Year!
Happy New Year! Went for a swim this morning with Pauline and a friend. We’re getting used to it now so it wasn’t unpleasantly cold, in fact, it felt very nice once we were over the initial waves-slapping-the family jewels-and-tummy bit. Afterwards, we warmed up with cups of chai, and our friend brought some homemade biscuits. A great start to the day.

UF Season 3 E6 & Storm Barra.
As you may have seen in your podcast feed, U&F Season 3 Episode 6 is now live. I mentioned in it that we were about to get clobbered by “bomb cyclone” Storm Barra and that I feared we’d lose power. So far, we’re still connected (which is how I’m able to write this), but it is ROUGH out there. I took the dogs for a walk and on a few occasions the wind almost blew me over. If you’re in Ireland, batten down the hatches and stay safe.

Recording Legion 8, and Waiting …
I’ve been recording U&F Legion episode 8 today. It’s a big chapter. I’ve been recording for an hour and I’m only halfway through. But then some neighbour started up a big power tool (power washer? big drill?) so I had to stop. It’s been buzzing away for about ten minutes now with no sign of stopping, so I thought I’d blog about how I’m sitting here waiting it out.
What’s really annoying is, there’s a big storm coming in tonight and through tomorrow, so that’ll kibosh recording too. Arg! Oh for a soundproof booth, eh? I’ll have to stick it on the wish board or whatever those things are called and dream really hard till I get one.
Sea Swim
I went for a sea swim with my wife on Saturday. Sea was cold, obviously, but once we were dried off and settled down with hot water bottles and coffee, we soon warmed up. Tesco’s ginger chocolate biscuits also helped, as did the sun when it came out shortly after the above pic was taken. You can see the sky clearing in the pic below. A great start to the day.
